Filed under: YankeesA.J. Burnett is set to take the mound for the Yankees in Tuesday's Game 4 against the Rangers. With the Yankees trailing the series, 2-1, the pressure is on Burnett to perform.
Adding to the pressure for Burnett is that he's had an up-and-down 2010 season that has seen him make headlines in New York for the wrong reasons.
Burnett went 13-9 in 2009, his first year with the Yankees, but dropped to 10-15 in 2010 with an ERA of 5.26. He started strong with a 6-2 record, but went winless in June. In July, he was embroiled in a mini-scandal in New York after he cut his hands punching a clubhouse door in frustration during a start against the Rays.
