Thursday-and-Long: Is This Tom Brady's Best Year?

An NFL MVP race that appeared muddled just a few weeks ago has come into focus. Following Monday night's thrashing of the division-rival Jets, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady now looks like a runaway winner.

What Brady's doing this year is nothing short of incredible. Other than the otherworldly 2007 season, in which he and Randy Moss combined to break so many NFL records, this stands to be the best statistical season of Brady's career. His current completion percentage of 66.8 percent would be his second-highest ever, as would his passer rating of 109.5. His next touchdown pass will be his 28th, which will match the second-highest single-season total of his career. He's thrown just four interceptions, which puts him on track to better his career-low mark of eight from that 2007 year.

Statistically, he can't match 2007, because it's unlikely anyone can. But when you factor in what's gone on around New England in terms of offensive turnover this year, you can make the case that this stands to be Brady's best season ever.
