INDIAN WELLS, Calif. (AP) -- Top-ranked Rafael Nadal rallied from a 3-0 deficit in the first set to beat Juan Martin del Potro 6-4, 6-4 and advance to the BNP Paribas Open final on Saturday.
Nadal ended a three-match losing streak to Del Potro, and improved to 31-4 all-time at Indian Wells. He won the title in 2007 and '09.
In Sunday's final, Nadal will play either Roger Federer or Novak Djokovic, who met in a later semifinal with the world's No. 2 ranking at stake. Federer is currently No. 2, and must win to retain his ranking or drop to third in the world.
On the women's side, top-ranked Caroline Wozniacki plays Marion Bartoli in Sunday's final.
