Former NDSU football center being honored

FARGO, N.D. (AP) North Dakota State University is about to have another alumnus in the College Football Hall of Fame.

Former center Mike Favor is being inducted in this year's class. The ceremonies are Friday and Saturday in South Bend, Ind.

Favor is among four players and two coaches in the 2011 Divisional Hall of Fame Class, which includes players and coaches from classes below NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision. That includes the former NCAA Division II, to which NDSU belonged when Favor played from 1985-88. He helped lead NDSU to two undefeated seasons and three national titles.

NDSU has four others in the hall: former head coach Gilmour Dobie (1951), two-time All-America defensive back Joe Cichy (1997), 1986 Harlon Hill Trophy winner Jeff Bentrim (1998) and former head coach Darrell Mudra (2000).
