BUTTE, Mont. (AP) � The Montana Tech volleyball team has signed a standout middle blocker from Texas.
Orediggers head coach Marilyn Tobin announced Thursday that Emily Lobnitz, of Sunnyvale, Texas, would join the team this year. In high school, the 6-foot-1 Lobnitz was named District Newcomer of the Year in 2008, District Hitter of the Year in 2009 and District MVP in 2010. She also was a member of the All-State Volleyball Team in 2010.
Tobin says she believes Lobnitz "will certainly become a force in the front row."
Lobnitz also excelled at tennis in high school, finishing as state champ this year.
