BATON ROUGE, La. Les Miles says senior safety Brandon Taylor is fully recovered from his broken right foot and ready to fill a leadership void created by the graduations of key seniors from LSU's 2010 defense.
Tiger players voted during the offseason to give Taylor the No. 18 jersey this season, widely seen as a sign of respect for a player's character and work ethic. Miles says the vote is appropriate, given how hard Taylor worked to come back since breaking his foot last November.
Miles, who spoke as players reported on Wednesday for fall practice, says everyone who was expected to show up did.
Miles also says a few freshmen, namely running back Terrence Magee and receivers Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry, could play this season.
