Kansas Jayhawks suspend Tyshawn Taylor indefinitely

LAWRENCE, Kan. -- Kansas junior guard Tyshawn Taylor has been suspended indefinitely from the team for violating team rules, coach Bill Self announced Monday.

Taylor has started all but one game for the 25-2 Jayhawks, who are ranked second in the latest ESPN/USA Today coaches' poll. They play host to Oklahoma State on Monday night (ESPN, 9 ET).

"Although we are disappointed in Tyshawn, he will remain a member of our team and practice with our team until he is reinstated for competition," Self said in a statement.

The loss of Taylor comes at a critical juncture for the Jayhawks (10-2 Big 12), who are chasing Texas (11-1 Big 12, 23-4) for the conference title. There are four games remaining in the regular season.

Taylor is averaging 8.8 points per game for Kansas and ranks third in the Big 12 in in assists per game (4.7).
