COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) � South Carolina coach Darrin Horn has made his director of player development a new assistant coach.
Cypheus Bunton will take over the assistant job left vacant when Orlando Early took an assistant coach job with North Carolina State last month.
Bunton was an assistant for Horn at Western Kentucky and for Horn's first two seasons with the Gamecocks before taking the job as director of player development before the 2010-11 season.
Horn says Bunton will provide continuity to the players and believes in Horn's system.
Justin Phelps will be South Carolina's new director of player development. He spent the past year as founder and director of the All-American Junior College Showcase in Las Vegas.
