Ohio State's Meyer visits MLB's Indians

CLEVELAND (AP) -- Urban Meyer rooted for the Cleveland Indians as a kid and dreamed of playing for them. Ohio State's coach finally got a chance to swing in their ballpark.

Meyer took some cuts in the indoor batting cages Monday before the Indians played the Cincinnati Reds. Meyer was drafted by Atlanta and played two seasons of minor league ball. The Buckeyes' new coach toured Progressive Field as a guest of the Indians with his 13-year-old son, Nate, who was given a complete uniform by the club.

During their visit, the Meyers ran into Browns rookie running back Trent Richardson, who was also on hand to watch the Indians. Richardson played catch in the outfield with Nate and threw around a football with Indians reliever Joe Smith.
