VANCOUVER -- Cody Hodgson's big chance with the Vancouver Canucks has finally arrived. The Canucks called up Hodgson on Monday from Manitoba of the AHL as they try to get more scoring from anyone not named Sedin, Ryan Kesler or Alex Burrows. With 26 points in 28 games, he could be the jolt they need.
The promotion caps a long comeback from a mysterious back injury for Hodgson, who has been hailed as Vancouver's star of the future since he was drafted 10th overall in 2008, but he's struggled with injuries. When he completed his 2008-09 junior season with Brampton of the OHL and helped Manitoba reach the Calder Cup finals, it looked like he was on a fast track to the NHL.
