Denver Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas isn?t gushing about Tim Tebow?s performance last season in Denver.
Tebow got much of the hype and praise for helping the Broncos make the playoffs. Thomas felt much of that credit was undeserved even though he caught the game-winning touchdown pass from Tebow during the Broncos? overtime playoff victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Bottom line? Thomas was not sorry to see Tebow traded to the Jets.
?It?s a business decision,? Thomas said during a radio interview with 790 The Zone in Atlanta. ?I ain?t going to say I was sad because the only thing they remember is that pass.
?You gotta go back and look at the rest of the games. I wasn?t getting no balls and you had to make some of these plays where some players were open and he is not making the throws. But I don?t want to talk bad about Tim, but hey I am happy we got Peyton (Manning).?
Thomas said the amount of attention Tebow received annoyed some Broncos.
?Everything on ESPN was all about Tim,? Thomas said. ?That bothered some players, too, because they would say ?Tim Tebow Time.? I felt like it was a team thing. If it wasn?t for the defense, most of the time there wouldn?t be no supposed ?Tim Tebow Time.??
For someone who said he did not want to dump on Tebow, Thomas did a pretty good job of dumping on Tebow. It will be interesting to see if some Jets express similar thoughts as next season plays out.
