Haynesworth was limited in practice all week because of an ankle injury. His status for Sunday was contingent on how well his ankle responded to the treatment that he's been receiving throughout the week.
Even though many of the Redskins players expected Haynesworth to play, ESPN 980's Chris Russell first reported via Twitter that the defensive lineman would sit out for Washington in Week 2.
