Black Eyed Peas to Reportedly Play Super Bowl Halftime Show

Filed under: Super BowlBlack Eyed Peas will be playing the prestigious Super Bowl halftime show this season, according to a report by Sports by Brooks.

FOX Sports chief executive David Hill commented after Super Bowl XLIV that he hoped this year's Super Bowl, which will air on his network as opposed to CBS, which aired the game last year, would choose a younger performer. Since Janet Jackson's "wardrobe malfunction" at Super Bowl XXXVIII, the NFL has chosen older artists to perform -- Paul McCartney, the Rolling Stones, Prince, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band and the Who, the latter of which provided the inspiration for Hill's comments.

The Black Eyed Peas have a prior relationship with the NFL, having played the Super Bowl XXXIX pregame show and the 2009 Kickoff Concert.
