The New York Jets continue to sound open to a ?Hard Knocks? sequel, but general manager Mike Tannenbaum says they still haven?t received a proposal from HBO.
The Jets received rave reviews for their appearance on Hard Knocks in 2010, leading to much speculation that they would be the choice again this year.
The New York Daily News reported last week that the Jets would not return to the show, but the team continues to deny any decision has been made. And now, Tannenbaum says they haven't even been appraoched by HBO.
?(It) has not been offered to us, so right now we?re on the sidelines and we don?t know who?s going to be asked at the end of the day,? Tannenbaum said during an appearance on PFT Live. ?But what I can say is NFL Films, HBO Sports, they all did a great job. It was a great experience for us, it was good for our organization. I think those organizations are real pros, and it was a good experience for us.?
Tannenbaum didn?t go so far as to say the team would accept an offer if it came. ?I know there?s been speculation out there, so it was a great experience for us two years ago and, as we?ve said, if that was something that ever came down the pipe again, we would consider it but that?s not where we?re at as of right now,? he said.
With ultra-candid coach Rex Ryan and the juicy subplots involving Tim Tebow and Mark Sanchez, it seems like a no-brainer for HBO to make the offer.
