Filed under: Braves, Phillies, NL EastATLANTA -- What Bobby Cox wanted most of all is to not know when his last game is.
For now, at least, he gets that.
With Saturday's 5-0 loss to the Phillies on Bobby Cox Tribute Day, the Braves fell into a tie for the National League wild card with the Padres, who defeated the Giants.
What's good for baseball is that with one day left in the regular season, half the NL playoff field is undecided. After Sunday, the Braves' next game could be Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or next April.
"We've got to suck it up and win a game," said Cox, the longtime Atlanta manager who is retiring after the season. "We have to tomorrow. We need to win."
