Stan Van Gundy Apologizes to Fans About Non-Magic Lineup

Filed under: Bobcats, Magic, NBA Coaches, NBA PreseasonORLANDO, Fla. -- This doesn't happen very often.

Although the NBA exhibition games often are filled with less than a star cast of characters, Orlando Magic coach Stan Van Gundy still apologized to fans for the lineup he put on the court Thursday night.

The Magic beat the Charlotte Bobcats 86-73, but Van Gundy did it without any of his five starters starting Thursday night. And after thinking about what he had done, it was not something in which took any pride.

"I want to say I'm sorry, and I was wrong,'' Van Gundy told the Orlando Sentinel 30 minutes after the game, hoping his message reached the paying customers. "I thought I had reasoned it through (in my mind), but I can't justify it. If it was the first game that somebody came to see, you bring your kids. ... I'd be upset, too. I won't do it again.''
