Filed under: WTASerena Williams will make her comeback at next month's Toray Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo. The hard-court tournament is considered a WTA Premier event and has a total purse of $2,000,000. Serena will be making her maiden appearance at the tournament that begins Sept. 26.
The 28-year-old Williams, ranked No. 1 in the world, pulled out of the U.S. Open last week. She cut her foot in an off-court accident in July that required surgery. The 13-time Grand Slam champion has not participated in a tournament since winning Wimbledon.
