Eric LeGrand's first interview since being paralyzed in an October game aired Friday on ESPN, one day after Rutgers announced the good news that LeGrand has full sensation throughout his body.Speaking with Tom Rinaldi, LeGrand expressed optimism in his recovery.
"I believe that I'll walk one day," LeGrand said. "I believe it. God has a plan for me, and I know it's not to be sitting here (in his wheelchair) all the time. I know he has something planned bigger for me."
LeGrand explained what it felt like after he made a tackle on special teams, sending him to the ground, saying, "My body was stuck. I tried to get up, but I couldn't." He said he felt like he could just "pass out and die here."
