INDIANAPOLIS -- When Butler junior Ronald Nored attended Point Guard College camp one summer while in high school, he learned an important life-long lesson: Whenever you walk into a room, raise the energy level by making everyone feel special.Nored does it off the court with ease. After Butler home games, he slowly works his way through a slew of friends and family awaiting his exit from the locker room, greeting each one by name with eye contact and a hug. Then there's walking across campus in a timely manner, which is next to impossible for Nored.
"We call him 'The President,'" says teammate and all-knowing roommate Shelvin Mack. "Ronald knows everybody on campus and cares so much for his school. I've never seen anybody with as much energy as he has. He takes time with everyone he meets."
But on the court? Nored is a wizard when it comes to executing what he learned.
Given the chance, Nored's ball-wielding skills could make both Allen Iverson and Stephon Marbury feel special -- on the same court and team.
"I do the things I have to do in order to raise the energy in the room," Nored says. "Playing great defense and diving for loose balls -- that gets your teammates excited.
