Mark Ingram and Marcell Dareus appear set to roll with the tide into the NFL Draft's first round, as both players are reportedly planning on leaving Alabama for the pros.According to the report, the players will announce their decisions at a Friday press conference.
Dareus is considered one of the best defensive line prospects in the draft, and should be a top-10 pick. He had 33 tackles, 6.5 sacks and an interception in Alabama's 2009 national championship year, and followed it up with another 4.5 sacks in 2010. His size should appeal to teams looking for a 3-4 end or 4-3 tackle.
Ingram, of course, is the 2009 Heisman Trophy winner. While he's one of the top running back prospects in the draft, it's a weak class. It's entirely possible he's the only back selected in the first round. It's also possible that Ingram slips into the second round.
Reports indicate wide receiver Julio Jones, the duo's teammate at Alabama, could declare for the draft, too. But that is less certain. If so, it would leave Alabama fairly hamstrung in 2011.
