Bill Cowher stepped down as coach of the Steelers in 2007 to spend more time with his family, and since then he's been constantly linked to a number of openings and potential openings, most prominently the Panthers and Giants. In contrast to other coaching free agents who sometimes comment on the rumors about them, Cowher has maintained a relatively low profile, sticking to his job as analyst for CBS. But in a recent online chat, Cowher admitted that he's "open" to potentially taking a new job.
"I'm open to listen to opportunities," he said. "I'm very comfortable at CBS. I'll keep all my options open. And I'll only answer those questions at the end of the season. I'm not going to comment on any hypothetical situations until the entire season is over."
