SAN DIEGO -- By golly, Philip Rivers and Tim Tebow have a lot in common.
Such as Sun Belt childhoods, pride in Southern alma maters, NFL first-round pedigrees and AFC West addresses.
Such as a feistiness on the football field and affability of it.
They're also eager mentors to children and teenagers, and advocates of Christian faith.
They probably drink a lot of milk.
The next step in their shared wonderfulness?
It'd be neat if the rookie Tebow, against steep odds, can become more like Rivers as a passer. Sunday in Denver, the two quarterbacks will oppose each other for the first time, a matchup of Pro Bowl regular and relative novice.
"I'm a work in progress," Tebow acknowledged Wednesday. "I'm still trying to get better every day and get the system down to where it's second nature. But, I feel like I've improved a lot."
