The tennis great began her ascent with a team on Monday. The group had battled difficult weather conditions. Navratilova began to feel ill and her climb was suspended.
She was helped down the mountain by porters and taken to a medical center to be assessed.
Initial reports are that Navratilova was in good spirits, despite being unhappy about having to cut the climb short.
