In the final push toward National Signing Day 2011 on Feb. 2, FanHouse will examine the recruiting efforts of a major conference in twice-weekly notebooks. As always, recruiting is an ever-changing landscape -- and there are several high-profile players that remain uncommitted. Here is FanHouse's review of the Pac-10.THE BEST
SOUTHERN CAL TROJANS
Total commitments (as of Jan. 16): 24
Five- and four-star commitments: 10
The 411: Despite NCAA violations that have the Trojans on probation and unable to play in a bowl game in 2011, Lane Kiffin and his staff have been busy recruiting to Southern Cal. The Trojans have not one, but two four-star quarterbacks already signed, as Cody Kessler (6-1, 208, Bakersfield, Calif., Centennial HS) and Max Wittek (6-4, 215, Santa Ana, Calif., Mater Dei HS) will be contending for playing time starting in the spring. Kiffin and USC hope to add five-star WR George Farmer (6-2, 192, Gardena, Calif., Junipero Serra HS) and ATH De'Anthony Thomas (5-9, 160, Los Angeles, Calif., Crenshaw HS) to the haul in two weeks.
