Florida Football a Family Affair for New Quarterback John Brantley

John Brantley is a parent, a former University of Florida quarterback and a high school football coach. So when Brantley text messages his son John to see how he's doing, Brantley can relate from three different perspectives.

Like any father, Brantley wants his son to be safe and embrace the moment. Yet, Brantley is also a tad apprehensive. The letterman understands the expectations that surround the Gators because he has been there, under center at UF, throwing for 13 career touchdowns from 1977-78. Brantley, the head coach, also realizes his son is replacing a superhero, Tim Tebow, the greatest college player of all time in the minds of many, and every decision will be magnified.

"Part of me is really excited to get started, and part of me wants to fast forward the season and somebody please tell me how it turned out," Brantley (below right) told FanHouse, chuckling.
