Albert Haynesworth Blames 'Friendly Fire' for Poor Effort on Eagles TD

Albert Haynesworth Albert Haynesworthhas once again been forced to defend himself following a third-quarter play in Monday night's Eagles romp of the Redskins in which Haynesworth was knocked to the ground, then laid there for several seconds as Michael Vick scrambled in the backfield. Vick capped off that play by throwing a touchdown pass.

On Wednesday, Haynesworth blamed the apparent lack of effort on his part on "friendly fire."

"I got taken out by friendly fire," Haynesworth told reporters, according to Dan Steinberg's D.C. Sports Bog. "It was (Redskins defensive end) Vonnie Holliday. He, like, ran into my leg. I then I had, like, a horse, a charley horse in my thigh or whatever. I knocked him back, and then I thought I heard the whistle. ...
