The Denver Broncos and their coach, Josh McDaniels, have been fined $50,000 each in the NFL's latest version of "Spygate,"the NFL announced on Saturday. McDaniels was fined because he did not promptly report a violation of the NFL's Integrity of the Game policy (where do they get these names?) when his video coordinator illegally taped six minutes of the San Francisco 49ers' walkthrough prior to the game between the two teams in London four weeks ago.
His video coordinator was Steve Scarnecchia, a man who worked for the New England Patriots in the same role from 2001-2004. Scarnecchia was hired by McDaniels and Denver in 2009. He took the video of the 49ers without knowledge of anyone on the Broncos (the team and league said). For his role, he was fired.
