Our national nightmare is over -- Barack Obama is off the injured reserve and back on the basketball court. The president received 12 stitches after catching an elbow in the lip while playing basketball with friends at nearby Fort McNair on Friday. In his return to the court Sunday, he was joined by a less dangerous duo: Malia and Sasha, his daughters.
Obama is a celebrated sports fan, and it's no secret basketball tops his list. The president has filled out the NCAA tournament on ESPN and offered free agency advice to LeBron James.
It's been a basketball-heavy week for the first family. In addition to the action on the court, the Obama clan was in the crowd for the Oregon State-Howard game on Saturday. Beavers head coach Craig Robinson is the brother of Michelle Obama.
