PITTSBURGH -- It can safely be stated that reports of the Oakland Raiders' return to prominence were a tad premature.
Not that the Raiders can't make something of this season, just that they made nothing of a trip to the Steel City on Sunday. Pittsburgh dominated the Raiders to re-establish the Steelers' playoff credentials. Oakland imploded like many Oakland teams of old when defensive tackle Richard Seymour -- a defensive leader -- turned and smacked Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in the throat well after the play -- and for no obviously identifiable reason other than the Steelers were pouring it on.
That hit turned into a topic of prime conversation in the Steelers locker room after the 35-3 blowout, because the Steelers felt Seymour earned a suspension.
"I don't see why not," said Steelers linebacker James Harrison. "They're trying to suspend guys for hits when that's within the whistles."
"I thought that was cheap," said Steelers guard Chris Kemoeatu. "Real cheap. He's been in the league long enough and I thought it was uncalled for and selfish on his part."

Seymour was ejected on the play, and apologized after the game.
"You don't want to do anything to hurt the team, first and foremost," Seymour said.
