WWE Releases Several Wrestlers, Creative Team Member

Filed under:

It's Black Friday in the WWE, with the company making cuts today.

Jim Ross broke the news of the first cut which was Smackdown wrestler Shad Gaspard who had not been seen much on television recently. Jim Ross noted on his Twitter page, "He certainly has discernible physical attributes and I hope he discovers best in in-ring persona."

The company has also confirmed the releases of Luke Gallows, Vance Archer and Caylen Croft along with Divas Tiffany and Jillian Hall. Of course, they were all wished the best in all future endeavors by the WWE.

ProWrestling.net is also reporting that creative team member Chris DeJoseph is also gone from the company. He mostly worked on Smackdown and was seen from time to time as the character Big Dick Johnson. Yes, he is the rather rotund fellow that would get oiled up and dance around in a thong.

Referee Aaron "Goose" Mahoney was also given his walking papers according to that same site.

The wrestlers and divas that were released have rarely been used as of late. Tiffany has been off TV since mid-August when she was suspended by the company following an incident involving herself and her husband WWE superstar Drew McIntyre. She was arrested for domestic disturbance at a Los Angeles hotel following an argument between the two. The charges were later dropped by the sheriff's department.

Jillian Hall had been on the WWE roster since July 2005. She played several personas in the company with the most notable one as a notoriously bad singer.

Luke Gallows has basically been lost since the Straight Edge Society group was broken up in early September. He has previously played the role of Festus when he first joined the company.
